  • Driver Education Program Requirements

    30 hours of Classroom Instruction (must be at least 15 years, 9 months of age)
    12 hours Behind-the-Wheel Instruction
    6 hours of In-Car Observation time
    2 hour Parent/Guardian Class, attended by at least one parent (certificate valid for 5 years)

  • When can a student obtain a learner's permit?

    A student may obtain a Learner's Permit once they reach age 16. Student will go to a full-service Registry of Motor Vehicles and bring his/her Original Birth Certificate and Social Security Card.

  • When can a student obtain a license?

    A student must have a Learner's Permit for six months without infractions, meet all requirements for Driver Education and have a Driver Education Certificate of Completion processed by the RMV and pass a Road Test.

  • Where is the 30 hours of Classroom Instruction offered?

    CS Driving School offers Classroom Instruction at:
    2 Winter Street, Suite 301, Waltham, MA 02451

    117 West Central St., Natick

    Parent/Guardian Classes are scheduled in conjunction with each 30 hour Classroom Instruction.

  • When can a student take in-car lessons?

    Once the student has obtained a Learner's Permit, CS Driving School offers appointments during the day, after school, evenings and on weekends.

  • How does a student register for driver education?

    We have three convenient ways to register. - Register online at www.csdriving.com (preferred), or, - Visit our Main Office at 2 Winter Street, Suite 301, Waltham, or, - Call CS Driving School at 781-891-0460

  • How does a student obtain a Driver Education Certificate of Completion?

    Once the student completes all requirements of the Driver Education Program, CS will process and send the student's paperwork to the RMV. The RMV will then issue a Driver Education Certificate of Completion (no longer mailed out) which can be seen on the RMV website at www.massdot.state.ma.us/rmv. The cost of the Driver Education Certificate is $30 which can be paid online through the Student Portal or by check made payable to CS Driving School.

  • How do I schedule a Road Test?

    Road Tests may be scheduled once the Driver Education Certificate of Completion is issued.

    If you plan to take your Road Test on your own, once your Certificate has been issued, you can schedule a Road Test online through the RMV's website.

    If you plan to take your Road Test with CS Driving School, we will place you on an upcoming Road Test List and you will receive emails outlining the Road Test process. CS performs all Road Tests at the Watertown RMV and your Sponsorship Fee will cover the use of a CS Vehicle and a CS Instructor as your Sponsor on Road Test Day. You will need transportation to/from the Watertown RMV.

  • What fees are charged by the RMV?

    - RMV Learner's Permit Test: $30.00
    - RMV Road Test Appointment: $35.00
    - RMV Driver's License: $50.00
    - Driver Education Certificate of Completion: $30.00 (payable to CS Driving School)
